The stadium opened in 2002 after 2 years of construction with initial construction costs of $125 million. The stadium features a hardwood playing court and has seating for 17,950. There is a large scoreboard and video board above center court and banners across the stadium. The stadium is located in College Park, Maryland. The stadium also has a small gymnasium for volleyball. The stadium is the largest stadium in the state of Maryland. The stadium is often referred to as "The House that Gary Built" because Gary Williams was a major basketball coach for the university and the court was dedicated to him.
