Rupp ArenaKentucky Wildcats
430 W. Vine St., Lexington , KY, 40507
Rupp Arena is home to the University of Kentucky's NCAA basketball team, the Wildcats, located in Lexington, Kentucky. The stadium opened in 1976 with construction costs of $55 million. In addition to basketball, the stadium hosts concerts, conventions, hockey games, and sometimes even arena football. The stadium has a seating capacity of 23,500 for NCAA Basketball games and approximately 21,300 for hockey, 7,550 for arena football, and up to 24,000 for music concerts. Unlike many D1 college stadiums, Rupp Arena does not have any luxury suites. The stadium did add four new large video boards, locker rooms, a court which was dedicated to Cadwood Ledford, and new seating on the lower level of the stadium. The stadium is the largest in the country compared to other stadiums that are designed specifically for basketball.
